About the Murrumbidgee Health and Knowledge Precinct
The Murrumbidgee Health and Knowledge Precinct aims to improve the quality and accessibility of healthcare in our community.
It is a partnership of like-minded people from health, education, industry, business, community and government who work together to enhance services and improve health and wellbeing outcomes across the Murrumbidgee.
The Precinct supports the design and delivery of state-of-the-art healthcare services, so our community can experience better health outcomes. It works with local communities to better understand health needs and collaborates to design innovative and practical ways to improve services in our community.
Our purpose
To provide a platform for cross-sector stakeholders to work collaboratively to improve access to high-quality healthcare services, enhance education and training pathways, and support better integration of the health system.
Our region
The Murrumbidgee Health and Knowledge Precinct covers more than 125,000 square kilometres across NSW, supporting diverse and geographically dispersed communities.
Across this large regional footprint, communities experience different health needs, service challenges, workforce pressures and access barriers. The Precinct supports place-based solutions designed around local needs and regional strengths.
Our goals
The Precinct has three goals:
Enhance research to develop new and innovative ways to provide services.
Improve education and job opportunities to grow the regional workforce.
Strengthen the journey through the health service.
When the Precinct achieves these goals, our communities will be healthier, and our health and education systems will be stronger.
Strategy 2024–2029
The Murrumbidgee Health and Knowledge Precinct Strategy 2024–2029 provides the Precinct Board and its partners with a clear shared sense of direction for the work we do.
The strategy helps the Precinct identify, design and implement the right solutions to our unique regional and rural issues.
