Growing our own workforce

The Murrumbidgee Health and Knowledge Precinct is building partnerships with local schools, vocational institutions and universities to create innovative pathways for training, employing, attracting and retaining local health professionals.

The aim is to grow our own workforce by developing an effective career pipeline that addresses current and emerging workforce gaps and enhances current and future education and training offerings that lead to a successful local career in health.

Through cross-sector collaboration and co-designed initiatives, partners work to identify current and emerging workforce challenges and develop practical solutions that strengthen the long-term sustainability of regional health services.

Education and Rural Workforce Strategy

The Education and Rural Workforce Strategy will help inform future workforce planning, service delivery enhancement and the sustainability of health services in the region.

The aim is to attract, develop and retain a highly skilled workforce while creating opportunities to grow our own through tailored, locally designed education-to-career pathways that enable people to train, work and build meaningful health careers within the Murrumbidgee region.
