Murrumbidgee Health & Knowledge Precinct
Rural and regional health services face significant challenges, highlighting the need for tailored and targeted place-based solutions that meet the needs of our diverse and geographically dispersed communities.
The Murrumbidgee Health and Knowledge Precinct is a collaborative initiative established to enhance the design and delivery of local healthcare and education services, and improve health and wellbeing outcomes for our local community.
Covering more than a 125,000 square kilometre geographical footprint in NSW, the Precinct provides a platform for cross-sector stakeholders across our region to work collaboratively to improve access to high-quality healthcare services, enhance education and training pathways, and work towards better integration of the health system.
Our focus areas
The Murrumbidgee Health and Knowledge Precinct brings together partners from public and private health, education, industry, business, community and government at both the local and state level.
Together, these partners identify shared challenges, explore opportunities for improvement, develop solutions that meet our unique local needs, and work on joint initiatives that support local priorities.
Education and Rural Workforce
Growing regional workforce capacity through designing and providing innovative education and training pathways to grow our own workforce and meet local demands.
Research Support and Innovation
Enhancing research opportunities locally and fostering an innovation mindset between partners to drive practical, evidence-based solutions tailored to rural health needs.
One System Integration
Supporting better integration of our regional healthcare systems so our people experience seamless, patient-centred care.

Join us in Griffith for the 2026 Murrumbidgee Regional Health Innovation Showcase, an annual event bringing together representatives from health, education, industry, government and community to celebrate and explore innovation across rural and regional health.
This year’s theme, Growing rural health: Supporting innovation, workforce and community, will highlight the place-based solutions, partnerships and ideas improving health and wellbeing outcomes across the Murrumbidgee.
The Showcase is an opportunity to connect with MHKP partners, hear from local leaders, share knowledge, explore opportunities for collaboration and celebrate the strength, capability and leadership within our region.
