Health Intelligence work to strengthen regional planning and shared decision making

The Murrumbidgee Health and Knowledge Precinct is working to establish a unified approach to sharing, collating and accessing health data and information to elevate planning and support for the Murrumbidgee region.

The Health Intelligence work will support a shared understanding of community health needs and strengthen the way partners plan, prioritise and evaluate regional health initiatives.

Across rural and regional health systems, effective planning depends on access to reliable, secure and locally relevant information. Shared health intelligence can help partners better understand service gaps, emerging needs, access barriers, workforce pressures and opportunities for improvement.

Through cross-sector co-design, the Precinct is working towards governance models that support ethical and secure data sharing. This work will culminate in the development of a Roadmap to guide future regional planning and decision making.

The Health Intelligence work aligns strongly with the Precinct’s One System Integration focus area, which supports better integration of regional healthcare systems so people experience more seamless, patient-centred care.

It also supports the Murrumbidgee Regional Planning Framework, which highlights the importance of shared data, joint planning, monitoring, evaluation and continuous improvement.

By strengthening how data and information are shared and used across the region, partners will be better placed to identify priorities, align resources, design local initiatives and measure impact over time.

The Health Intelligence Roadmap will help ensure future planning is driven by a shared understanding of community health needs and supports practical, evidence-informed action across the Murrumbidgee.

The Murrumbidgee Health and Knowledge Precinct will continue working with partners to build the foundations for more coordinated, informed and collaborative regional health planning.
